Jason A. Alexander – Managing Director

Mr. Alexander has devoted most of his career to executing middle market leveraged buyout and corporate finance transactions. Prior to joining Kodiak, Mr. Alexander was a Managing Director of Philadelphia First Group and Beacon Capital, private merchant banking firms with primary emphasis on arranging middle market leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and growth financings. Mr. Alexander was also a Vice President in the mergers and acquisitions department of Lehman Brothers where he represented buyers and sellers of middle market companies, and was with the investment arm of the Philadelphia National Bank, first in international private equity investing, and then as head of the Private Placement Department. Mr. Alexander graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Finance.

Ryan C. Hodson – Managing Director

Mr. Hodson’s credentials include raising capital and advising clients for Laidlaw & Co. in private equity and hedge fund investments. His broad-based career spans the capital markets as a commodities trader for Iowa Grain, to a financial analyst for Lincoln Financial and most recently Managing Director of Blackwater Capital Partners - a private equity fund specializing in special situations investments. Mr. Hodson brings an arsenal of strategic relationships to Kodiak. His years of Regulation D investing and experience in the broader capital markets, with New York Consulting Group, afford him a unique skill set in identifying key investment opportunities for Kodiak. Mr. Hodson attended Becker College and Bentley University and earned his degree in Business Management.

William R. Newell – Managing Director

Mr. Newell leverages his relationships and experience gained at some of Wall Street's top-tier investment banks, to assist portfolio management for the firm. Prior to joining Kodiak, he was Vice-President of Equity Capital Markets at Lazard & Co, where he sourced, serviced and maintained the firm's relationships for direct investments, secondary offerings and new issues. Mr. Newell has also served in senior institutional sales and trading positions with Fidelity Investments, C.L. King and Associates and The Griswold Company. Mr. Newell graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Government with a concentration in Comparative Studies.

Robert J. McCarthy – Managing Director

Mr. McCarthy, a seasoned entrepreneur, brings a main street outlook and work ethic to Kodiak’s Wall Street savvy team. Mr. McCarty’s small business background allowed him to develop a real world understanding of complex financial problems. After completing a two year International Business Study Abroad Program in Sydney, Australia, Mr. McCarthy graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Marketing.

Charles A. DeVerna– Director of Business Development

Mr. DeVerna is an experienced corporate finance and business development professional who has consistently succeeded in establishing new client relationships and building on existing relationships through a combination of creativity and responsiveness. Prior to joining Kodiak, Mr. DeVerna was a Managing Director at New York Consulting Group where he provided merger and acquisition advisory services to mid-market companies. Preceding his involvement at New York Consulting Group, Mr. DeVerna was an institutional bond broker for Cantor-Fitzgerald. Mr Deverna started his career as a member of the Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Mercantile Exchange where he started a financial futures desk for Rouse Woodstock and operated a EuroDollar desk.

Mr. DeVerna is the Founder of the Ascent Funding Organization, the funding arm for the Ascent School for Individuals with Autism, and is currently the Vice President with the mission of opening adult living quarters for children and their families.

Christopher G. Muneio – Director

Prior to joining Kodiak, Mr. Muneio was an Associate at The Asset Group where he was instrumental in establishing and managing new business relationships with institutional clientele and most recently with The Comvest Group where he was responsible for sourcing new deal flow and analyzing prospective investments. Mr. Muneio graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a degree in Business Administration and with a double emphasis in Finance and Marketing.

Scott A. Cox – Director

Mr. Cox has over 15 years of private equity investment, mergers and acquisitions, performance management, business development, and sales and marketing leadership experience in both entrepreneurial business ventures and well-established corporations. Prior to joining Kodiak, Mr. Cox was Managing Director of Unity Energy Holdings, a energy focused private equity firm with primary emphasis on the acquisition and management of minerals, royalties and working interest positions. Mr. Cox began his careers in the mergers and acquisitions department of Allegiance Capital Corporation where he represented buyers and sellers of middle market companies. Mr. Cox also has deep experience as an entrepreneur, where he developed a start-up business within the title insurance industry with a focus on improving technology. Mr. Cox graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a degree in Business Administration.
